OMORI has two main endings, as well as a neutral ending with three different variants.

True Route
Every main ending is affected directly by the game's final choice after Sunny's defeat in the Omori battle.
Good Ending
If Sunny chooses to keep going after being struck down by Omori, he will gain the resolve to play his Duet with Mari for the last time. Sunny then absorbs Omori and wakes up in reality, where he seeks his friends and confesses the truth behind Mari's death.
Bad Ending
If Sunny gives up against Omori, Omori will absorb him and hijack his body, before returning to White Space. He prepares to go out on another adventure with his friends, while in reality, Sunny commits suicide by jumping off of the hospital balcony.
Secret Flower Ending
If Omori happens to water Basil's flowers on Two Days Left after leaving the Last Resort and before entering Humphrey, an additional cutscene will play after the Good Ending.

In this cutscene, Sunny and Basil, alone in their hospital room, smile at each other as their Somethings fade away.

Neutral Endings
If Sunny chooses to run back home instead of helping Basil, he will get these endings. Additionally, if the player is on the Hikikomori Route, they will be locked to these endings.
Suicide Ending
True Route
If Sunny abandons Basil after learning the truth, he can pick up another steak knife in his kitchen. If he does so, after he visits White Space for the last time, Sunny will never wake up; he will have stabbed himself in the chest in his sleep and bled to death. The ringing of a phone can be heard over the credits.
Hikikomori Route
At any point after completing Black Space, Sunny can choose to kill himself by opening the menu and selecting the Stab option. While he will noticeably hesitate, he will eventually stab himself in the chest and slowly bleed to death on the ground. The ringing of a phone can be heard over the credits. This can also be done on Moving Day.
Abandon
If Sunny abandons Basil after learning the truth, but does not pick up the steak knife in the kitchen, he will wake up on Moving Day. He will head outside as various Movers help move the last of their belongings out of the house, and will get into his mother's car, still stalked by Something, implying that he will never get over his trauma. Sirens will additionally be heard over the credits, suggesting that, since Sunny never intervened, Basil succeeded in killing himself.

Items are a important part of OMORI both inside and outside of combat. In-game, they can be found under the "equips" and "pocket" tabs in the menu. Items are separated into the following categories:
*Charms: Charms are equippable items that any party member can equip, boosts stats and/or apply emotions to the user at the start of a battle.
*Weapons: Weapons are equippable items that Omori and his friends use to attack. Unless they are using specific charms that boost hit rating, it's impossible to hit any target without the use of weapons. Each character can only equip weapons assigned to them, being knives for Omori, toys for Aubrey, balls for Kel, and kitchenware for Hero.
*Toys: Toys are consumable items that can be used in combat, causing a variety of effects to either the party or the enemy. These effects may include dealing damage, changing emotions, or applying debuffs.
*Snacks: Snacks are consumable items, applying buffs to the party or healing HP or MP. Snacks can be used outside of combat.
*Important items: Important items, or just "Important" as seen in game, are key items for quests or other items that don't fall into the above categories. Some important items are also usable outside of combat, like Hero's Foe Facts! and the Emotion Chart.
Battle system

Charlesevilguy:

The battle system in OMORI is similar to combat in the traditional turn-based JRPGs the game takes inspiration from, with additional mechanics that change the flow of combat, such as emotions and follow-ups.

Stats
Most stats in the game mirror typical RPG stats, save for some small differences, as seen below:
* HP Heart: Heart is the amount of "HP" party members and enemies have. If fully depleted, the character becomes "Toast" and will be unable to fight.
* MP Juice: Juice is the amount of "MP" party members and enemies have. Most Skills costs Juice to use, and party members are unable to use Skills that require more Juice than what they currently have. Enemies do not use Juice for Skills, and instead use it for damage reduction when they are inflicted with Sadness.
* Attack: Attack decides the amount of damage most attacks do, with a few exceptions.
* Defense: Defense works as predicted, decreasing damage taken by attacks. Note that there are Skills that can bypass defense.
* Speed: Speed works like an "agility" value, affecting the turn order and the chance to run from a battle. During speed ties, the party leader will move first, followed by the order of Omori - Aubrey - Kel - Hero, then finally, the foes.
* Luck: Luck controls the critical hit rate. Each Luck point equals +1% critical hit rate. Luck does not increase when leveling up.
* Hit rate: Hit rate determines whether an attack hits or misses. The default hit rate for all party members is 0%, with most weapons granting +100% hit rate. This can be changed with status effects.

Equipment
Weapons
Weapons are the characters' main method of attacking, granting the hit rate needed so the characters can hit something. The player is only able to change the weapon of the dream world cast, except Omori. Each character uses different types of weapons, as seen below:
*Omori uses knives to attack, while Sunny uses the Steak Knife, his own hands or the Violin.
*Aubrey, while in Headspace, uses a variety of blunt-force weapons, such as hammers, bats, and pillows. In the real world, she wields her Nail Bat.
*Kel, while in Headspace, uses various types of balls as weapons. In the real world, he uses his Basketball.
*Hero, while in Headspace, uses cooking and serving utensils, like pans and spatulas. In the real world, he uses his fist.

Charms
Charms are equipable items shared between all characters, each character can carry one charm, which will grant a variety of different effects, like increasing stats, granting emotions or immunity to it, changing battle rewards, etc.

Battle actions
During the battle, there is a set of actions the player can take at the beginning of the turn, these are:
Attack
The default attack option, shared with all party members, doing an attack allows the use of follow-ups when pressing the movement keys in direction of a living party member.<br>The basic attack always has the same formula of doing double the character's attack minus the target's defense. All basic attacks have the default 20% damage variation and can hit right in the heart, basic attacks from real-world party members can't hit right in the heart.
Skills
Each character has access to a variety of skills that they can use, however only four skills can be equipped at the same time, including the ability to guard attacks. Below is an abstract for each character's skills, a more complete list can be seen at the character page. Keep in mind that every skill that applies emotions and buffs can be applied again to increase the tier. Like attack, all skills, with very few exceptions, have the default 20% damage variation and can hit right in the heart, skills which this does not apply will have it written on the list below.
Snacks can restore the Heart or Juice of one or all party members. Certain snacks can also revive party members who are toasted or apply some buffs.
Toys are one-use items, typically causing a debuff or emotion. They can be used on enemies, and sometimes on party members.
Run away
As the name suggests, this action is for running away from combat. the chance to escape is based on this formula:
[0.65 * $gameParty.agility() / $gameTroop.agility()], in other words, the speed value of all the party members combined, multiplied by 0.65, divided by the speed of the enemy troop. Whenever a failed attempt's made, an additional 10% chance is added.
Battle mechanics
Energy
Energy is a resource gained whenever one of the party members is hit by any attack, the party starts with 3 energy with a maximum of 10 energy, consuming 3 energy when using follow-ups and 10 energy for using the ultimate "release energy" follow-up.

Follow-ups
Buffs & debuffs
Buffs and debuffs work similar to what is expected in other JRPG, the conventional buffs/debuffs, speed, attack, and defense lasts for six turns and stack up to three times, while the non-conventional ones, like Sno-Cone and the release energy buff, do not stack and last till the end of the battle or till the user becomes toast. To keep track of all that, the game makes use of several states, one for each tier of the buffs, when a state already applied is applied again, it removes the current tier and gives another advanced tier, for example, using "Gator aid" will give everyone a "defense up 1", buffing again will remove "defense up 1" and apply "defense up 2", and so on, if a buff or debuff is already at max tier it will instead do nothing and not refresh its duration.<br>Lastly, keep in mind that both the debuff and the buff can exist at the same time, so, for example, a character can have both the defense up buff of any tier and a defense down debuff of any tier.

Below is a list of all major buffs and debuffs.
There are more buffs, which are used exclusively by enemies, like increasing hit rate and such, these are covered when needed on their articles.

Emotions
Emotions are a type of state that gives the character some buffs and debuffs, they also give an "element" to their attack that makes it stronger or weaker to other emotional states, with three tiers for each emotion. It follows the following rules:
*Normal enemies and most bosses can only have tier 1 emotion.
*Party characters can only have up to tier 2 emotion, and can only have the first tier of afraid.
*Only Omori and some bosses can have tier 3 emotions. Omori is also immune to afraid.
*Sunny can only be afraid, stressed out, angry and sad, other real-world friends follow the same rules as their dream world counterparts.
While under the effect of emotions, the character does more damage to one emotion and takes less damage from another, following the pattern that can be seen in Hero's Emotion chart at the side, which is:
*Angry is strong against sad.
*Sad is strong against happy.
*Happy is strong against angry.

The emotion resistance and weakness values are as follows:
* Emotion Resistance: Takes 20% / 35% / 50% less damage from the weaker emotion.
* Emotion Weakness: Deals 50% / 100% / 150% more damage to the weaker emotion.
<b> This value varies depending only on the defender's emotion tier. </b> So, for example, if the attacker is ecstatic and the defender is angry, the attack will only deal 50% more damage, while if the attacker is angry but the defender is ecstatic, the attack will deal 35% less damage.

Boss specific emotions
Bosses that have advanced tiers of emotion, these being Sweetheart, captain Space Ex-Boyfriend and the Unbread Twins, use different emotion trees compared to the player once they become emotion locked, it follows slightly different rules, as seen below:
}}

Plot armor
Plot armor is the internal name of the mechanism that prevents Omori from taking mortal damage once per battle. When triggered, Omori's color scheme will temporarily invert, and the game will announce that Omori "did not succumb." Once triggered, plot armor's invulnerability will not be removed until the end of the turn: Even if Omori sustains more damage after not succumbing, he will stay at one HP. After the next turn begins, however, any attack that reduces Omori's HP to zero will kill him normally, resulting in a Game Over.

Prior to patch 1.0.8, the game used to check heart value at the end of the turn to determine if Omori should or should not disable his plot armor. This meant that, if Omori's plot armor was triggered, and he ended the turn with more than 5% HP (possible by either having a healing item used on him before the end of the turn, or reducing his max HP through accessories to the point where he effectively always has more than 5% of his HP), he would retain his plot armor hit, and would be able to survive another killing blow. It was possible to keep the immortal state indefinitely, as long as Omori never ended a turn with less than 5% HP.
clear

Stat Calculation
Simply put, the buffs and debuffs affecting a stat all interact multiplicatively.

* <b> Final Stat = base stat * (emotion effect) * (in-battle buff) * (in-battle debuff) * (release energy bonus) * (sno-cone bonus). </b>

The calculated stat is then rounded to the nearest whole number and will not exceed 999.

The bonus from release energy and sno-cone are only applicable to players.

Damage Calculation
In calculating damage, keep in mind that the game uses the calculated stats that has been rounded to the nearest whole number. The calculated damage formula is then multiplied by damage multipliers, if any.

* <b> Final Damage = {[(damage formula) * (emotion multiplier) * (critical multiplier) * (damage variance)] + additional critical damage} * (flex multiplier). </b>

Critical damage has a multiplier of 1.5 and an additional damage of +2 which is added after all multipliers have been calculated except for flex.

As mentioned earlier, the majority of attacks have a randomness factor of 20%, this means it will have its final damage deal anywhere between 80% and 120% of its calculated value (a damage variance of 0.8 to 1.2). Some attacks have no randomness factor (such as Release Energy), while some others have a different randomness factor (such as 30% for Ricochet).

Trivia
* When introducing the party to a Sad Lost Sprout Mole, Hero will incorrectly claim that Sad enemies "won't do as much damage as normal." While Sad enemies generally are more likely to waste their turn, Sad does not affect Attack power whatsoever.
* From version 1.0.7 and onward, most of Hero's heart-healing skills are affected by emotion: Hero will heal characters weak to his current emotion more, and he will likewise heal characters strong against his current emotion less. The only exception is Tea Time, which is unaffected by emotional advantages. This is likely an oversight.
* Hero's cook skill is the only healing skill that has any variance to the % of max HP healed. This is also likely an oversight.
* Omori and Hero's sprites while Angry only have two frames of animation, as opposed to three. This also applies to Omori's 'injured' graphic as it is based off of his Angry sprite. This is likely an oversight.
* An unused emotion called "panic" exist within the files, but it does nothing other than sealing the use of skills, theoretically, it would be the second tier of afraid, with stressed out being the third.

In OMORI, quests serve as elements of the game that are sometimes necessary for plot progression.

If an NPC shows a white lightbulb that means that they will give you a quest if you talk to them, after accepting the quest or talking to them three "..." will appear meaning that you accepted the quest and that you can now do it. When a black lightbulb appears that means that you have completed the quest and that if you talk to them, they will give you a reward. After you finish talking to them a sound can be heard, meaning that you successfully completed the quest.

Current quests in Headspace can be viewed by talking to Mari, who will list all current quests Omori and his friends are involved in and ones they have already completed. Mari will offer commentary depending on quest progress. In Faraway, there is no in-game way to track current quests outside of simply remembering which are active.

Quests can be divided between side quests and main quests. Main quests are necessary for the game to progress, so you will have to complete them to advance in the story. Side quests, on the other hand, are not necessary and can be completely ignored, but they will give rewards for completing them, some side quests are more difficult than others so each one will have different rewards for doing them.

PAGENAME is a game mechanic that allows the player to change the leading member of the party quickly either through an assigned button or the menu. Different leaders can perform different actions, as seen deeper in this article. Every time the party tags, a photograph sound will play and a polaroid showing interaction with the current leader and the new leader will block the screen to prevent the player from seeing the change.<br>The tagging function becomes available during one of the first cutscenes of the Junkyard, and the whole area is considered a tutorial area for tagging.
Omori/Sunny
While leading, Omori can cut branches, traffic cones and spider webs, Omori is also the only member able to see and interact with the keyboard keys scattered around the world. He is also the only character capable of comprehending the speech of most Deeper Well residents such as the Branch Coral; all other characters will instead only hear muttering. In Faraway Town, Sunny is also able to cut spider webs, during the start of the second night, and cones during the third day of the true route while in the Recycultist's HQ.

In certain parts of the game, most notably the end of every dream when Omori returns to White Space and throughout his exploration of Black Space 2, the tagging option in the menu is replaced with a "stab" option. This either wakes him up, allowing for Sunny to be controlled in the real world, or returns him to Black Space's hub, depending on the location.

Sunny also has this interaction after confronting the Stranger at the end of the Omori route. In this instance, selecting it will prompt him to commit suicide, ending the game.

Omori does not have a specific tutorial about his Tag function, although Aubrey indirectly mentions his ability during the tutorial for her own Tag ability:
* Aubrey: Hey Omori, you know how you can cut roots and traffic cones?

<br>

Aubrey
While leading, Aubrey can smash debris, pots and barrels found all over Headspace, destroying it allows access to some areas, with the possibility to give the party clams and items in the case of pots and barrels found in Sweetheart's Castle and Deep Well respectively. Tagging Aubrey is also necessary to do Aubrey's power-up event, where she gains extra 20 juice. In Faraway, Aubrey is able to smash debris found in the Recycultist's HQ.

Aubrey is the first character covered in the tutorial, and will also tell Omori about the tag button:
* Kel: Awww, man! It looks like there's a big block of junk in the way!
* Hero: You might even call it... a roadblock... get it?
* Aubrey: Not to worry, everyone! This big ol' block is nothing compared to my swing!
* Aubrey: Hey Omori, you know how you can cut roots and traffic cones? Well, you're not the only one with a special ability around here!
* Aubrey: I, for one, can smash large blocks out of the way!
* Aubrey: Kel and Hero have their own special abilities, too... Although I'm not so sure about Kel... hehe...
* Aubrey: Just make me the leader by selecting tag in the player menu or by holding [tag key]! I'll get rid of this hunkajunk, easy-peasy!

Kel
While leading, Kel can throw various balls while on "throwing stands" to solve various puzzles, later on, he also learns to aim by using a QTE to control directions. Kel is unique as he uses a special event that controls the ball thrown, with 11 different balls plus 3 chemical recipients used during the throwing mini-game inside Humphrey. In Faraway Town, Kel is also able to make a throw in order to make a stair drop down inside the Recycultist's HQ, however, here he will always throw his basketball.

The player learns about Kel's tag after having the way blocked by a giant "keymagnet", in order to advance Kel needs to destroy it by making a throw:
* Kel: Ow! What the-! What gives!?
* Kel: Well, whaddya know? There's a weak point on its head! I can recognize one of those anywhere.
* Kel: Let's try throwing something at it! I'm sure that'll work.
* Kel: That platform there looks like a good place to throw from. Tag me! I got this!
Kel also has a second tutorial for his tag in Sweetheart's Castle garden, after being hurt by one of the statues:
* Kel: Alright, Sweetheart... You asked for this!
* Kel: HI-YAHHHH!!
* Kel: ... Dang... I missed.
* Aubrey: Oh, silly Kel! You're not going to knock out anything throwing like that!
* Aubrey: Why don't you try aiming for once?
* Kel: Huh? Aim? I can do that?
* Aubrey: Of course! Even you can aim, Kel!
* Kel: Alright! I'll give it my best shot!

Hero
While leading, Hero can use his charm to persuade NPCs, receiving discounts on mailboxes and the toll gates Gator Guys, opening Club sandwich after defeating Mr. Jawsum (only needed on the first one) or to receive items from various NPCs who are thankful for his actions prior to the events of the game, a complete list of the latter can be found below. Like Aubrey, Hero needs to be the leader when doing his power-up event and gain his extra 20 attack, in Faraway Town, Hero's able to use his charm to convince the Recycultists inside the HQ to join Sunny's party, necessary in order to reach their leader, the Recyclepath.

Hero is the second party member that the player learns its tag's properties, allowing the party to change the directions of a conveyor belt by talking to Mr. Conveyor-bot:
* Kel: Hey, Mr. Conveyor-bot! Switch up those conveyor belts for us already!
* Mr. Conveyor-bot: Bzzt... Hmph... Rude person...
* Aubrey: You can't just yell orders at people, Kel! Geez! Have some tact, will you?
If Hero is already tagged:
* Hero: Now, now... There's no need to fuss. I'll handle this one!
If Hero is not tagged:
* Hero: Now, now... There's no need to fuss. I'll handle this one! Tag me, Omori!
After the charm animation:
* Hero: Greetings, Sir Conveyor-bot. My companions and I require your assistance in changing the directions of your conveyors. Will you and your friends please help us?
* Mr. Conveyor-bot: Bzzzzzt! Ahh... Hmm... Nice person... Okay...
Charm rewards
If Hero talks to certain NPCs all over Headspace he can sometimes get a reward.
* The background of the pictures in the dream world is the area's battle background where the party tagged. This interaction sometimes bugs out, leaving only an empty battle background without the polaroid.
* During battle, the beginning text will change depending on the party leader.
* As seen above, there is an animation for all sides, despite Kel only using his tag while facing away from the camera,
* On a similar topic, both Faraway Aubrey and Kel only look up during their animations.

The WTF Value is a number that gets randomly generated shortly after Kel pulls Aubrey out of the Neighbor's Room stump during the prologue, immediately after leaving White Space for the first time.

This number determines which random events will occur in that playthrough. As a general rule of thumb, higher WTF values will result in more oddities occurring.
Events
* If the WTF Value is 2 or higher, a "photo of someone familiar" will appear in the second Junkyard tunnel. If the party interacts with it while Omori is leading, Something will appear for a split second before the photo completely vanishes.

* If the WTF Value is 3 or higher, a hanged figure, identical to those found in the Fishbowl Area, will appear in the top right corner of the Lost Forest's last room. It will eventually disappear and play a sound effect if Omori attempts to approach it.

* If the WTF Value is 4 or higher, the Simple Roach will appear in the upper right corner of the Royal Kitchen. If spoken to, it will say "Ah! I've been spotted! Please don't tell anyone I'm here! I just like digging in the pantry... I mean... who doesn't?" before fading away.

* If the WTF Value is 5 or higher, a Roamin' Cow will appear travelling down the Endless Highway, saying "Roamin'... roamin'... roamin'..." if interacted with.

* If the WTF Value is 6 or higher, Stranger can be seen for a handful of frames when exiting a house near Basil's grandmother in North Lake, during the screen transition.

* If the WTF Value is 6 or higher, Something will appear in the lower left corner of the telescope view of the lighthouse.

* If the WTF Value is 6 or higher, the Blue Girl in the Beach Area will say "Don't talk to me." if interacted with.

* If the WTF Value is 6 or higher and the player has opened the door for Mari on the first night, Hellmari will briefly appear over the bed of Sunny's mother the next time Sunny visits her bedroom. It will vanish after a short period of time.

* If the WTF Value is 7 or higher, a running melon can be seen on the Snowy Field that precedes Snowglobe Mountain. Catching up with it and smashing it will grant the party a single piece of Tofu. This can only be seen on the Omori route.

* If the WTF Value is 8 or higher, the Spelling Bee will appear at the end of the Experiment 667 chase in Humphrey.

* If the WTF Value is 8 or higher, Basil's grandmother can be found in one of the North Lake maps. If interacted, she will ask "Have you seen my grandson?".

* If the WTF Value is 9 or higher, Daddy Longlegs would have been found in the same room as the Rare Bear in Pyrefly Forest. He would have disappeared quickly and had no dialogue for this occasion. In practice, this never occurs: The requirement for this to happen would be visiting Pyrefly Forest before Otherworld, which is completely impossible.

* If the WTF Value is 9 or higher, a Squizzard will spawn in the lower right corner of the Seacow Farm. It spins around and cannot be fought, even if interacted with.

* If the WTF Value is 13. a Humphrey that is reading a book will say "I fucking love air conditioning" in the room preceding the water slide section in Humphrey. Talking to him again will produce his normal dialogue.

* If the WTF Value is 13, the movers on the last day of the Omori route will turn into Strangers, similar to Basil and his grandmother.

* Tiffany Darling will offer the team differing amounts of clams depending on the WTF Value, with lower values giving more clams.
:* If the WTF Value is between 1 to 3 then she will give the group 2000 clams.
:* If the WTF Value is between 4 to 6 then she will give the group 1000 clams.
:* If the WTF Value is between 7 to 9 then she will give the group 500 clams.
:* If the WTF Value is between 10 to 13 then she will give the group 100 clams.
Trivia
* The number assigned to the variable is 143.
* The concept of a specific number randomly generated at the start of every save file affecting random, often unsettling, events is reminiscent of Undertale's Fun Value.
* The secret Humphrey dialogue is the only instance of explicit profanity in the game, and has earned itself a special mention in the ESRB rating.
This article is about Basil as a character. For the enemy, see Basil (enemy).

Basil is a major supporting character in OMORI. He serves as one of the driving forces throughout the game as the party spends most of the game looking for him after his sudden disappearance.

Profile
Appearance
In Headspace, Basil is a medium height boy with pale skin, teal eyes, teal chin-length hair, wearing a purple, blue, and pink flower crown. He wears denim overalls with a large pocket on the chest and a white t-shirt under. He doesn't wear any shoes.

In the real world, he has blond-greenish hair that he has a single pink flower tucked into. he wears a grey knitted tank-top over a white t-shirt, beige shorts, and black shoes, the same clothes that Sunny wears.

Personality
Basil is shy and socially anxious but cares deeply about his friends. He enjoys taking pictures, caring for plants, art, and reading. It is said in the game that "He will never throw away anything, no matter how worthless it is."

Basil is just like Heather for real. (Factual!)

Headspace
Basil's headspace counterpart is rather cheery, yet shy and humble. He is quick to forgive, as can be seen by his encounter with Boss after hide-and-seek, and he is very empathetic. He is friendly, and his shyness seems to stem from having low self-esteem and putting others' needs above his own.

He is incredibly sentimental, keeping memorabilia of his friends and happy memories through photos, and planting flowers that remind him of his friends, taking great care to plant flowers that he associates with his friends. His empathy stretches to his plants as well, showing a lot of worry when they're in danger of being hurt, and talking to them as he would his friends. It is noted that he avoids conflict. He doesn't learn to fight, even after his friends nag him to.

Real World
Compared to the headspace Basil, the real-world version of him is more anxious and sensitive. He is a target for bullying, typically by Aubrey and The Hooligans, but during the events of the game, if the player takes the Normal Route, usually Kel and Sunny defend him from harassment. The increased anxiety he shows is most likely due to his guilt over Mari's death.

Background
Basil was born on February 18th to unnamed parents. He lived with his grandmother since he was a toddler because his parents were "too busy." As a child, he was friends with Sunny, Hero, Aubrey, Mari, and Kel. He enjoyed taking photos and kept a photo album.

After Sunny accidentally pushes Mari down the stairs, Basil suggests framing the accident as a suicide. They hang her body from a tree in Sunny's garden. After looking back into the garden, the sight of the corpse's eye traumatizes them.

Story
Normal Route
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Hikikomori Route
Basil is not seen at all in the real world in the Hikikomori route due to Sunny never leaving his house. However, one of the Hikikomori endings has been theorized to imply that Basil committed suicide, as when Sunny leaves the house with his mother, the sound of sirens can be heard.
Trivia
* At one point in development, Basil's grandmother had a gun. Omocat tried to justify it by turning her into a hunter, but ultimately it was cut for "being too silly".
:* Most of this can still be experienced in the 2019 build, where Basil commits suicide by gun, rather than his scissors.
* Omocat reveals that Basil has changed the most since his inception.
:* At first he was a sweet and well put-together, like Mari. Later he became an very angsty boy named Rowan, who resembled Aubrey. In the end, Basil took from both iteration's personalities and became his own interesting character.
* Basil was supposed to be playable at the end of the neutral route. This was cut due to time constraints but later reintroduced as console content.

This article is about Ye Old Sprout as a character, for the boss battle, go to Ye Old Sprout (enemy).
Beware small spoilers in the article.
Introduction
Ye Old Sprout is the second boss the player encounter in the game, its appearance is of a much older and bigger Sprout Mole, with a mustache made of faded leaves.

Story
Prologue
He shows up right after finishing up the emotion tutorial, in front of Basil's Old Shoe house, deep in the Vast Forest, being fought (and killed) by the party, serving as a tutorial for the player to learn about follow ups and release energy. The party will have some dialogues before starting combat:
* Basil: Ah! Not another Sprout Mole!
* Kel: It's all good, Basil! We got the hang of this by now!
After the fight, They will continue:
* Hero: And there you have it... HERO's BATTLE TUTORIAL 101! And I'm sure that as we fight more battles, our teamwork will improve overtime!
* Basil: Wow, you guys! That was so amazing!
* Kel: Ah, that was nothin'... Heh, heh. I've taken down way bigger guys than that! I should teach you some of my skills one of these days!
* Aubrey: Basil... I know you're not the type that likes to fight... but it's good to know how to defend yourself too!
* Hero: You know... I've actually been working on a book all about battles! Maybe we can all study together next time. I'll give it to Omori to hold onto for now.
* Hero: As we get stronger, I'll be updating the Follow-Up section of the Self-help Guide, so be sure to check it out every now and then!
* Hero: Omori, you should know... When we gain exp and level up, sometimes we'll also learn skills.
* Hero: skills are powerful and have a wide range of effects, but each of us can only remember up to 4 skills at a time.
* Hero: After you learn a new skill, don't forget to equip it from the player menu, okay?
* Kel: Yeah, yeah... We know! Can we go to Basil's house now?
* Hero: Okay! That's all I had to say! Patience, Kel...

Day 2
During the introduction cutscene for Sweetheart, Sprout Mole Mike honor Ye Old Sprout before starting the "Sweetheart's quest for hearts" show, playing a sad song before continuing it.

* Sprout Mole Mike: Before our show, we wanted to take a moment to honor the life of someone who has been an inspiration to us all. Our beloved leader, Ye Old Sprout.
* Sprout Mole Mike: He was truly the father that none of us deserved. Let us have a moment of silence in memory of him.
* ... ... ... ... ...
* Sprout Mole Mike: May he rest in peace.

Epilogue
If the player does not open the door for Kel at the start of the game, Ye Old Sprout will be fought as the first boss on the Boss Rush, additionally, it can also be found slowy rotating in the Static Void map of Black Space.

Perfectheart is a character and optional mini-boss in OMORI.

Appearance
Perfectheart has an appearance very similar to Sweetheart, albeit much more modest. She has two long ponytails on either side of her head, Dark pink eyes, and light brown skin. She wears a pink overall dress with a white belt, and a small tshirt with lace on the sleeves. In addition, she emits a soft white light from her body.

Personality
Perfectheart, as the name would imply, is a seemingly perfect being, appearing calm and collected at all times. She is extremely polite to Omori and his friends, and seemingly has great faith in her own abilities. However, unlike Sweetheart, she is much more humble, simply excepting defeat when beaten by the player.

Story
Perfectheart was created by Marina, intended to be a partner for Sweetheart. However, Sweetheart is disgusted by her, proclaiming that this suitor is not what she wanted, and storms off.

In the hikikomori route, she can be encountered and fought during One Day Left after re-entering Humphrey. She will ask several times if the player really wants to fight her, and when the fight begins she reminds Omoris party that they brought this on themselves.

After being defeated, she is renamed to Imperfectheart and loses her glow. She does not seem particularly bothered by this, stating that she is no longer perfect and that it is truly a shame.

Quotes
Before battle
* I'm teaching SWEETHEART how to do household chores! She's learning... at her own pace... but she makes for such a cute maid, don't you think? Hoho!
*Yes, yes! Isn't she just the cutest?
*Isn't that right, SWEEPHEART?? OHOHOHO!
*What's this? Are you challenging me to a fight? Oh... You don't want to do that... Are you sure about this?
*Oh... I see... I think it's fair to warn you that you might regret this decision... So... I'll ask again... Are you sure you want to challenge me?
*Are you really, really sure?
*...
*Alright, then... If that is what you wish. I won't be holding back.
If the player chooses not to fight her
*Yes... That would be the smarter choice.
After battle
*Hmmm... Congratulations. You win. I suppose this means that I am no longer perfect. Such a shame, really.
